The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) is the only tri-services command in India.

He has succeeded Lt Gen Ajay Singh.
The ANC is serving as a model for the ambitious theaterisation plan.
It aims to bring greater synergy between the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The appointment of Justice TS Sivagnanam as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court has been announced.
He was the senior-most judge serving as the Acting Chief Justice.
He was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointment as Chief Justice.
Justice Sivagnanam was born on 16th September, 1963.
He started his legal practice in September 1986.
He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court on March 31, 2009.
He became a permanent judge on March 29, 2011.

Eminent UK-based Indian-origin actress and writer Meera Syal is set to receive the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship Award, the highest honor conferred by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
The award recognizes Syal’s exceptional contribution to film and television.
Sial’s best-known works include “Goodness Gracious Me” and “The Kumars at No. 42”.
He will be presented with the Fellowship Award during the BAFTA Television Awards on 14 May at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
He has appeared in various productions such as Doctor Who, Paddington 2, The Sandman, Horrible Histories, The Split and The Wheel of Time.

Businesses with an annual turnover of Rs 100 crore or more will have to comply with a new GST rule from May 1, 2023.
The new rule mandates uploading of electronic invoices on the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) within seven days of issue.
IRP is used to verify that these invoices are indeed genuine and to assign them a unique Invoice Reference Number for GST purposes.
The new rule replaces the current system wherein businesses upload invoices to the IRP on the day they are issued, irrespective of their actual issue date.
