SSC CGL Exam Introduction

The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) exam is a competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission of India.

Candidates who have completed their Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university can apply for SSC CGL exam.

The SSC CGL exam consists of four tiers, which include,

  • (Tier-I) – Computer-Based Test
  • (Tier-II) – Computer-Based Test
  • (Tier-III) – A Descriptive Paper
  • (Tier-IV) – Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test

The Tier-I exam tests the candidates’ general awareness and quantitative aptitude, while the Tier-II exam tests the candidates’ language skills and mathematical aptitude. The Tier-III exam is a descriptive paper that tests the candidates’ writing skills. The Tier-IV exam is a skill test/computer proficiency test that tests the candidates’ ability to use computers and perform practical tasks.
