What is the area of right angle triangle?

The formula for area of a right-angled triangle

A = (1/2)bh

Where:

  • A is the area of the triangle,
  • b is the length of the base of the triangle, and
  • h is the height of the triangle (the perpendicular distance from the base to the opposite vertex).

This formula is based on the fact that a right-angled triangle can be divided into two congruent triangles by drawing a line from the right angle to the midpoint of the base.
